LUCKNOW || The Uttar Pradesh chief secretary Rahul Bhatnagar, has expressed concern over inordinate delay in the completion of various projects involving Rs 100 crore or above.
Out of 126 projects of Rs 100 crore or above in different organisations, only 25 have completed so far, he said, directing principal secretaries to hold periodical review of the pending projects and ensure their early completion.
He also directed them to fix responsibility of officers concerned and issue warning letters to them. The Chief Secretary was reviewing works of Rs 100 crore or above at his Shastri Bhavan office in Lucknow recently. He also issued directives for dedicating all the finished projects to the people at the earliest.
He said that principal secretaries would be responsible for ensuring completion of works which have been pending for several years. He said that the progress report of every mega project should be uploaded on e-project management website.
Principal Secretary, Planning, Arun Singhal said that out of 126 projects involving Rs 100 crore or above only 25 projects have been completed till date and in some projects 90 per cent of work has been completed.
The list of number of projects worth Rs 100 crore or above in different departments is as under: PWD 35, urban development 27, medical education and training 22, Irrigation and Water Resources 17, prison administration and reform of services 8, sports 4, housing and urban planning 3, tourism 3, rural development 1.
