LUCKNOW || The results of the Uttar Pradesh Joint Agriculture and Technical Entrance Examination (UPJATEE) (2016) was announced under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary Agricultural Education Research Mr Amit Mohan Prasad at the meeting of the steering committee.
According to the principal secretary, in the under-graduate entrance examination, Ranjit Singh stood first securing 81.7% marks, followed by NItesh Kumar Yadav, who scored 81.2% marks. Ram Babu stood third with 80.8% marks. In the post-graduate entrance examination, Anand Swarup topped with 57.2% marks, followed by Brij Kishore Sharma who secured 53.82% marks and Ravi Prakash, who got 52.67% marks. In the PhD course entrance, Vir Vikram Singh stood first with 61.7% marks, followed by Ravish Dutt Shukla who secured 58.35% marks. Vivekanand Yadav ranked third with 56.33% marks.
Among the girls, Nandita Chandra with 77.82% marks stood first in under-graduate entrance examination, in post-graduate entrance examination, Varsha Saini stood first with 44.33% marks. In the PhD course, Shabnam scored 52.33% marks. Counselling would be held from June 18 to June 25.
This year, the entrance examination was conducted by Chandra Shekhar Agriculture and Technical University, Kanpur. The examination was conducted in five cities of Kanpur, Faizabad, Meerut, Banda and Allahabad, and was held from May 16 to May 18. Applications were invited from candidates both through the online and offline medium. The result was to be declared on May 31. However, the result has been declared a day in advance.
In all; out of 16,660 applicants, 15,708 eventually applied for the entrance examination. Of this 13,581 were boys, while rest of the 2,121 were girls. Of the 15,708 candidates, as many as 7,005 candidates have been declared successful.
