Major fire at village in Gomtinagar area of Lucknow

LUCKNOW || A major fire broke out in the state capital on Tuesday afternoon. Officials said the fire broke out at Ujariaon village in Gomtinagar locality in the noon.

ujDistrict Magistrate Raj Shekhar informed that the fire was contained completely within an hour. Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot. 33 Hutments were destroyed because of this fire. Cooking in open has caused the fire as per the preliminary investigation, officials added. DM Raj Shekhar confirmed that there were no deaths or injuries in the incident.

There have been more than half-a-dozen small and big fire incidents have taken place in the city over the past few days, something that district officials have described as “worrying”.
