DEHRADUN || The Regional Met Office has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in the hill state of Uttarakhand over the next two days. While the state has been receiving moderate rainfall in the past week due to various reasons, the weatherman has predicted ver heavy rainfall on Sunday and Monday in most parts of the state.
This, the state met department director Vikram Singh informed would be owing to a westerly disturbance passing through the state over the next 36-hours.
“This spell will not be monsoonal rains but it would rain heavily, mainly in Humayun region” he further added. He also informed that the monsoon for the state will be on time. The date set for the monsoon to hit the hill state is June 23.
The state government, following the warning, has sounded an alert in the state and asked people to take necessary precautions.
