Gaping hole in flyover at Lucknow, probe ordered by DM

LUCKNOW || The district magistrate of Lucknow on Raj Shekhar late on Wednesday set up an enquiry into the damage into the flyover bridge from Polytechnic to Munshi Puliya in Indiranagar in the state capital.

dayaWhile traffic was diverted soon after a gaping hole was noticed on the flyover, the DM said in a statement that the incident was “serious in nature” and posed a serious threat to people and commuters.

The constituted team consists of ADM-City (Trans-Gomti), Executive Engineer (Rural Engineering Services), Project Director of the Bridge Corporation Ghanshyam Pandey and Vijay Kanaujia, executive engineer of the NHAI.

The team will physically inspect the flyover at 8 am on Thursday , take samples of the construction material used and submit a detailed report to the DM about the possible reasons behind the incident.

“After the report is submitted and a review done, responsibility would be fixed” the DM said in a statement.
