LUCKNOW || The Army Service Corps (ASC) celebrated its 256th Corps Day at the Headquarter Central Command in Lucknow Cantonment on Friday. To commemorate the day, a wreath laying ceremony was held at the War memorial Smritika, here in Lucknow Cantonment.
Major General PP Singh, MG (SD & WE) and Senior most ASC officer in the Central Command, Major General Narinder Singh, MG ASC, Central Command and ASC veterans, paid floral tributes to the soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty. Veer Nari’s and senior veterans were felicitated on this occasion.
Lieutenant General BS Negi, Army Commander, Central Command, extended his greetings to all ranks, civilian employees, their families and veterans of the Corps on the day. He commended the role of the ASC personnel, both during war and peace.
The Army Service Corps is responsible for provisioning rations, petroleum products and transport support to formations across the country. It has consistently evolved and emerged as a modern, information technology savvy and network-centric organization catering to the ever changing strategic and operational environment.
